How We Drive Change
At Fundación Educacional Oportunidad, we don't work based on theory, but on practice. We design, implement, and scale programs that seek to tangibly improve learning opportunities for girls and boys.
Our model is based on five principles:
a) We work where the need is greatest
We focus on public education, supporting preschools and schools that face the greatest challenges.
b) We empower those who make learning possible
Educators, early childhood educators, teachers, school administrators, and school sponsors are the heart of the education system. Our job is to strengthen and enhance their capabilities.
c) We provide support—we don’t just train
It’s not enough to simply provide tools or define what to teach. We also provide guidance on how to put this into practice, working alongside the various stakeholders in the educational community—in the classroom, in administration, and in decision-making.
d) We use evidence to improve
We constantly measure, evaluate, and learn. What works, we strengthen. What doesn't, we adjust.
e) We seek to make an impact that goes beyond
. We don’t just work for the institutions we support.
We aim for our practices to be scaled up, influence public policy, and benefit many more children.
f) We build capacity to sustain change
From the outset, we work to ensure that educational communities themselves can sustain and build upon these improvements over time. This involves developing the capacity of educational teams, strengthening local leadership, and embedding best practices into day-to-day management.
