Whistleblower Channel
Fundación Educacional Oportunidad makes this Whistleblower Channel available to its employees, directors, consultants, suppliers, authorities, and third parties in general, so that any of them may report illegal or irregular conduct or situations detected in the operations of Fundación Educacional Oportunidad. This is done within the framework of the provisions of its Crime Prevention Model and/or the rest of the documentation comprising the Compliance Program approved by the Board of Directors of Fundación Educacional Oportunidad in accordance with Law No. 20,393, which establishes the criminal liability of legal entities. Reports must be serious, substantiated, and, ideally, accompanied by documents that help verify the reported facts. Otherwise, the Compliance Officer of the Fundación Educacional Oportunidad may close the case or request clarification via the email address provided by the person filing the report.
What is the Karin Act?
Law No. 21,643, better known as the Karin Law (named in honor of Karin Salgado, who took her own life in 2019 after suffering workplace harassment at her job), amends the Labor Code and other legal statutes (constitutional organic laws and administrative statutes) with the aim of preventing, investigating, and punishing workplace harassment, sexual harassment, and violence in the workplace, in both the private and public sectors. In addition, it establishes, as an obligation for companies and government agencies, a protocol for the prevention of workplace or sexual harassment and violence in the workplace.
How do I file a complaint?
To file a complaint under the Karin Law in Chile, you can do so directly at the following link using your unique password, through any formal internal channels the organization may have, or by visiting the Labor Inspectorate in person. The complaint must be in writing, include information about those involved, and attach any available evidence that helps substantiate the alleged facts. Otherwise, the Compliance Officer at the Oportunidad Educational Foundation may close the case or request clarification via the email address provided by the complainant.
